Pim Heemskerk assists clients with civil and regulatory law matters, particularly in the areas of climate change and the energy transition. He draws on 18 years’ experience in (financial) law, gained both in private practice and in-house at financial institutions. He has a particular interest in the intersection of civil and regulatory law.

In 2007, Pim obtained his Master’s degree in Dutch law from Radboud University Nijmegen. He then practised as a solicitor in Amsterdam and New York until June 2015, working in the international financial law practice. Pim subsequently gained extensive experience at an insurer/asset manager and at a bank, most recently as Head of Legal Financial Markets Products & Regulations. He has been working for Paulussen Advocaten since November 2022.

Pim has registered the following principal areas of law in the Dutch Bar Association’s register of legal practice areas:

• general law
• financial law

Pursuant to this registration, he is required to obtain ten training points in each registered main area of law every calendar year, in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association
